Kathy Roberts

Kathy Roberts is the Legal Director at the Center for Justice and Accountability (CJA) in San Francisco. CJA is a non-profit law firm dedicated to deterring torture, war crimes, crimes against humanity and other severe human rights abuses around the world through litigation, policy advocacy and outreach in pursuit of truth, justice and redress for victims and survivors. Dr. Roberts directs CJA’s legal team, with a focus on investigating and litigating impact cases on behalf of survivors of torture and other severe human rights abuses. Roberts received her BA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1992, her PhD in Philosophy from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 2001, and her JD from the University of California, Berkeley in 2004. In addition, Dr. Roberts teaches international human rights law at the University of San Francisco School of Education.
